DESPERATE: Man Wears Cage to Stop Himself from Smoking!

Mr Ibrahim Yücel, 42, has been smoking two packets of cigarettes a day since the age of 16. He is from Kutarya in Turkey and has tried to quit smoking for 26 years now to no avail.

Since his father died of lung cancer, he has been desperate to quit for the good of his health and his family but always found himself retyrning to the habit. Until he came up with this wonderful anti-smoking device...more pictures on how the helmet works after the cut.

Similar to a birdcage, it prevents him from smoking a cigarette at all. Every morning he heads off to work wearing the elaborate device and leaves the keys to the cage with his wife and his children, meaning there is no way he can break his vow to himself. For now, the plan seems to be working out fine...just that the children in his neighbourhood are still trying to get used to it.
