EXCLUSIVE: 10 Most Controversial Celebrities

tonto dike falls on stage

-Tonto Dikeh: She is one of the most controversial personalities in the Entertainment industry. The Ekwere-born architect has always made the headlines on blogspots with her every move. Her music has ‘raised the dead and healed the sick’.. I hope you remember her humpty-dumpty escapades on stage during Iyanya’s performance. For sister Tonto, it doesn't seem like the controversies won't keep rolling in...

 Cossy Orjiako

-Cossy Orjiakor: Talk about unnatural boobs that are both tiresome and worrisome, and you talk about Cossy's - tiresome because we've sincerely seen a lot of them and worrisome because we wonder if the owner is still in good mental health. Someone once wrote an open letter to her, saying she is "a disgrace to the Ibo gorls in Nigeria"; I doubt if only the Ibo girls are being disgraced though. She is popular for porn, animal sexual acts and every other sensual and abnormal acts.

TB Joshua

-T.B Joshua: Most blacklisted pastor in the Nigerian setting as an occult, he has been outrightly attacked by Pastor Okotie as an occult pastor. Funny enough, his prophecies have a way of coming into fulfillment despite the fact that he has been castigated by many Christian fellowships. Recently, Al-Mustapha was spotted with him. He is the G.O of the Synagogue Church of All Nations and rumour has it that people do not get attended to if they do not buy his portrait first. He is a philanthropist, even though some call his benevolence on TV a mere show off.

Olusegun Obasanjo

-Olusegun Obasanjo: This enigma, to a whole lot of people, remains the best president Nigeria ever had. Allegedly, he anointed Yar’Adua and GEJ as Nigerian presidents consecutively. His cleansing of the Odi village will not be forgotten. Everyone knows he strolled into the Boko Haram stronghold and came back unscathed! The OBJ and Eedris Abdulkareem saga remains fresh also. As a response to the musician's "Nigeria Jaga Jaga" track, he once told Eedris: “Your fada jagajaga, your moda jagajaga, all your family jagajaga!” There have also been stories of infidelity with his son's wife and really, I guess we have to book a whole newspaper to write about all of OBJ's controversies. *Whew!*... on to the next one...

IBB

-Ibrahim Babangida: The self-proclaimed Maradonna still remains in the spotlight. One big controversy about him is the fact that he annulled the June 12 elections and still runs for presidency till tomorrow.

-Yvonne Nelson: One of the most controversial Gollywood actresses, Yvonne is hot cake for Nigerian bloggers as they can not but talk about her every photoshoot, nice attire and her affair with Iyanya. Some people also complain about the fact that in slimming down, she seems to have lost too much weight; a departure from the once fleshy Yvonne that was once known. Her great body complements all of these news about her though...kudos to her.

2Face

-2Face idibia: Loverboy 2Face would probably not have made this list but for his escapades with several women who keep churning out several babies for him, a situation that has led many Nigerians to label him "Father of many nations". He once confessed that his gentle nature is a major reason why the various women were able to cling such claims to him. True...at least he didn't deny them all. Nonetheless, what many Nigerians continue to ask is why he had so many women at the same time.

Dbanj

-Dbanj: He is, perhaps, the most successful Nigerian artist as he rolls with widely recognized international entertainment bodies...the likes of Kanye West, Snoop Dogg, Jay Z, Beyonce, Big Shawn and a host of others. He is the first Nigerian artiste to reach 20million views on Youtube. It was also rumoured at some point that he had an affair with one of Nollywoods beauties, Genevieve Nnaji. The biggest controversy about him is his split away from Mo-hits crew and godfather, Don Jazzy. Dbanj has left fans arguing about the place of Mavin Records in the Nigeria entertainment industry after he left. Also, fans still do not understand if he is a member of the Illuminati sect or not.

Charley Boy

-Charley Boy: Charles Chukwuemeka Oputa is nearing 70 (he was born in 1951, making him 62) but is quite a handful. Talk about ear-rings, body rings, tattoos and bikes and you think of Charley Boy. Many people actually think that his maverick lifestyle is occultist. Apart from his "Big Bottom" track that was once denied airplay by some Nigerian radio stations due to overtly sexual lyrics, his most controversial act was in 2010 when he was interviewed by E 24-7 magazine alongside equally maverick Channel O presenter Denrele. The article, which was captioned "Yes, I Love Denrele" featured photographs which saw the pair in a number of suggestive poses including what appeared to be a passionate kiss. As homosexuality is illegal in Nigeria, the pictures sparked rumours that they were a gay couple; a claim they continue to deny, stating that the pictures were for publicity.

Denrele Edun

Denrele Edun: Of course, the list is incomplete without Charley Boy's partner in "publicity". Denrele freely calls himself "were ile"- a yoruba expression that rhythmically rhymes with his first name to mean "the mad man of the house". True to his claims. he does not cease to amaze us Nigerians with his derelict appearances that suggest both madness and homosexuality. He calls it "branding" but some Nigerians simply wonder if the bleached face is part of the branding as well.

In one way or the other, these controversies have increased the popularity of these celebrities but really, some Nigerians are simply tired of seeing some of them making the headlines for yet another controversy.

And your pick for the most tiresome celebrity of these ten controversial ones goes to...?
