Just like every other place, in church you meet several kinds of people who do not cease to amaze you with different stunts during the service. At times, you get disturbed or annoyed but what can you do? Here is a drop-down of the most annoying things people do in church:
*Chewing Gum in Church: And not just chewing gum but making silly noises with it. We know that most times, you might get sleepy during the service (especially if it is a vigil) but be discreet, mint sweets are better.
*Gisting with Friends: Some people have seriously complained about this. They are struggling to listen but the noise of the person next to them won't even allow them hear a thing. The most annoying part is that their gist is irrelevant...at other times, it evolves out of something the pastor has said and goes beyond proportion. Please, whatever it is...can't it wait till after the service?
Pinging and Constantly Updating Status: Funny enough, most people hide under the cloak of E-Bible, pretending to be using the bible application or jotting on a phone memo...hmnn...God dey ooo!!!
*Screaming " Yeah, Word! Preach It!! Yes, the Word can get really exciting but also remember that you're not the only one in church...hehe
*Snapping Pictures During Service and Uploading on Facebook, Twitter, etc: Just one question; when did church become a photo studio?
* Walking Around: Very distracting, even to the minister. If you are the kind of person that always has to go to the gents, please find a seat in a place where you won't draw too much attention, and except it is urgent, please please and please, try and sit still till the end of the service. This is no excuse for the rudeness of ushers though...
*Standing Up or Climbing a Chair to Watch a Drama: Dramas can get really exciting but obstructing the view of other people behind you is not accepted. Church is not cinema!
*Crying babies in Church: Yes, babies can get out of control but if you know your baby is the touchy type, it is more advisable for you to seat where you won't easily distract people....and please don't breastfeed in front of everybody , give yourself some closure.
Please, try to make this Sunday and every other one better for both you and everyone around you. Stay blessed!!!
